Melanie and Anmol are a very special couple, they have contacted me through the blog about 2 months before their wedding, all the way from Hong Kong. We had very little interaction before the wedding, mainly on Skype and a few calls and some emails. Mel and Anmol arrived to Johannesburg 6 days before the big day.
It was my privilege to have worked with them in creating a unique wedding where the elements of Asian and South African cultures were used in a modern and elegant fashion. The colours of the weddings were purple, black, white and silver – a refreshing mix of sleek modern glamour.

Stunning bridesmaids wore deep purple bubble dresses and carried textured bouquets made of Antheriums, Roses, Cockscomb and Willow.
Gorgeous Orchids, deep purple and white Lisianthus, white Tulips and glorious Pompom Chrysanthemums were the flowers of choice. We used mirrors and multitude of candles and solid white vases, as well as clear glass ones. The effect was truly breathtaking.
Mel and Anmol are beautiful inside and out. I wish them both many, many, many years of happiness and joy!

Jennifer and Scott were such a great pleasure to work with, and I enjoyed their passion for inspiration and creativity. We worked closely to create the perfect look which reflected French effortless charm and elegance with hints of South African vintage glamour. This was achieved by using soft pinks and peachy tones, accented by creams, browns and elements of silver. The flowers of choice were variety of Roses, Lisianthus, King Protea and Brunia. Heavy damask table cloths and textured cream lace added nostalgic elements and accentuated vintage undertones.
Angela and Uriel were married on Sunday 5 December at Shepstone Gardens.
Angela and Uriel share a very special bond. They have been together for many years and in that time have gone through life’s many challenges, only to realise that their love for each other and their shared faith transcend all boundaries
Angela chose pink, white and a hint of silver as her colours. This is a perfect colour palette for the vintage element Angela wished to bring to her wedding reception.
Beautiful white damask tablecloth with matching napkins, cut crystal glasses, glass baseplates along with the white and pink rose arrangements were perfect for their mid-morning wedding.
An outdoor ceremony was held in the main garden of Shepstone Gardens. The weather was perfect.
Angela looked breathtaking in a gown from The Wedding Box – the delicate lace was the perfect choice for this petite bride. Angela carried a bouquet of Arabella roses, tied with a white ribbon and finished off with diamante details.
Wishing Angela and Uriel both a lifetime of happiness and joy!

A Note from Christiaan David:
As a photographer I’m always on the look out for locations that would make for an interesting shoot. As you may have guessed from the headline – I have found a black wall which is just waiting to be used for just that.
You can win yourself the shoot by emailing me your “off the wall” idea for the black wall, by either describing it in words or sending me a picture ( info*@*christiaandavid.co.za – remove the *, just avoiding those spammers). I need a really cool idea so let your imagination run wild.
The shoot will be for any couple, married or single, and will be done in Pretoria, on a weekday afternoon from 16:00 onwards. The hires images will be yours to keep. I also have my own idea for the shoot, and after announcing the winner I’ll share my idea with you. The winner will be announced on 31 December 2010, so watch this space.
