Nadine & Troy Lee Wedding Video Clip by Lighthousefilms

Nadine and Troy – The Cradle Restaurant from Emily Munton on Vimeo.

I met Emily Munton from Lighthousefilms at Nadine and Troy’s Wedding. Thank you Emily for sharing this link. Your work is elegant and your video really captured Nadine’s vivaciousness and her Uber-Retro Princess personality!

Theresa & Petrus Wedding

Theresa and Petrus are an amazingly beautiful and spiritual couple. It was my absolute pleasure to work with them in creating their dream wedding a reality. Nothing too ‘off-beat’ or ‘different’ was to be excluded from the plans! It was truly special to work with a bride and a groom who wanted to express their unique personalities and share with their guests all that is precious and special to their lives.

The wedding day was especially serene, a bait a few stressful moments whilst the trained and designated bridesmaid was getting Theresa into her custom made Arwen gown!

The wedding reception was a buzz with palpable energy and special thanks to Chris and Ollie from Function Music who kept the party going well past the midnight!

Last, but not least, the wedding was captured on video by the talented Nicholas and Johannes, see their work here and here.

Kerryn & Mike, Avianto

Kerryn and Mike were married on 11 September at Avianto.

I was truly honoured to have been involved in creating their dream wedding.

Kerryn was a real pleasure to work with, and together were able to design her decor and flowers.

Outdoor Wedding at Toadbury Hall

Splendid Affairs had the pleasure of arranging flowers for Karin Botha’s wedding. This outdoor wedding took place at Toadbury Hall in March. This was a morning wedding and reception took place under the trees. The bride chose different shades of purple – which looked simple amazing in the outdoor setting. The splashes of colour bathing in sunlight created a festive atmosphere. The simplicity of flowers elegantly arranged in clear vases was complimentary of this High Tea reception. We used purple roses, lisianthus, alstroemerias and veronicas.

How To Get Your Wedding Published in the Wedding Magazine

Maybe you have always dreamed of seeing your wedding published on the pages of a glossy wedding magazine, but it is not an easy task. Out of thousands weddings taking place each year, maybe a hundred will make it into various South African bridal publications.

Here is the list of things you need to consider when submitting your wedding to a bridal publication:

1. Your photographer has to be amazing! One way to find out if your photographer will be able to provide you with appropriate images is by obviously studying their portfolio at the meeting, but also by following his/her blog for about a month before committing. Ask for their permission too, as some photographers may have a clause stipulating their expectation of reimbursement in the event of your wedding being published. Some photographers reserve the right to your images for 2 years after your wedding. You need to understand the contract with your photographer.

2. Your wedding theme has to be exceptional and original – details, details, details! When considering a wedding the editors are looking to show other brides great ideas. They want to use your decor, stationery and details as inspirations.Make sure you include a lot of photos of your reception, cake, seating chart, bouquets, flowers and other personal details you used at your wedding.
