Wedding Budget Matters – why a smaller wedding may not necessary cost less

Many wedding publications and trend forecasts tend to give a bride a false impression that having a smaller weddings will drastically reduce the cost of your wedding. This is not necessary the case and here are a two simple reasons:

1. Your venue often charges a flat venue hire fee for the day of the wedding. Many venues have a prescribed minimum amount you need to spend with them in order to have your wedding there – this amount includes venue hire, and catering. Therefore a number of guests becomes irrelevant.

2. Wedding suppliers charge an hourly rate for their services. A photographer charges for 8-10 hour of shooting on the day of your wedding, and your DJ will charge you for the number of hours he/she plays at your wedding.

The way to save money on your intimate wedding:

1. Consider a wedding day during off-season months May-September

2. Consider having your wedding on a weekday (even Friday rates are often better than Saturday rates)
